Leroy Sane’s new agent makes counter-offer to Bayern Munich

Leroy Sane’s future at Bayern Munich has been a source of speculation in the media.

The 29-year-old will be without a contract in June, but he is yet to pen a new deal with the German giants.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Sane is open to signing a new contract and is still willing to take a pay cut.

The club’s director of sport Max Eberl had proposed a package worth around €15.5 million, with €10m fixed salary plus bonuses.

However, that is not thought to be in line with his market value, and the player’s new agents have now submitted a counter-offer of €12m fixed salary plus €3m in add-ons.

Sane joined Bayern in the summer of 2020 for an initial €45m fee from Manchester City.

The winger has been an important member of the first-team over the years, scoring 61 goals in 219 total appearances and helping them lift four Bundesliga trophies.

This season, the German has netted 11 goals and created six assists in 29 league games.

However, it remains to be seen whether he reaches an agreement with his club over a new contract.

Bayern reclaimed the Bundesliga title from Bayer Leverkusen following the Blacks and Reds’ 2-2 draw at SC Freiburg earlier this month.

The Bavarians made a bold decision of replacing Thomas Tuchel with Vincent Kompany as their new head coach last summer, despite the Belgian’s failure to secure Premier League safety for Burnley.

However, their decision was proved right as Kompany led them to their 34th league title.

Though their performances were less than impressive in Europe, the Reds sealed the title with two Bundesliga fixtures to spare after losing just twice in the German top-flight.
